Welcome to the 68th annual meeting of International Doctors in Alcoholics Anonymous (IDAA) in beautiful and peaceful Snowbird, Utah. The convention will be held at the newly-renovated Snowbird Resort August 2-6, 2017.

"Building an Arch" is the theme for this year's convention, emphasizing the action component of recovery. The Local Arrangements Committee has chosen "Love and tolerance of others is our code" (pg 84, Alcoholics Anonymous) as the quotation for our conference.

Our Alanon Banquet Speaker will be Corinne S. from Philadelphia, PA. On Saturday night, Mel P. from Las Vegas, NV will be our AA Speaker. Finally, we are delighted to have John Macdougall from MN as our Spiritual Speaker on Sunday morning. We'll have the usual programing of AA, Al-Anon, Ala-Twenties, and IDAA Teens. Jerry Moe from the Betty Ford Center will be bringing his popular recovery based children's program for 7 to 12 year olds. Rooms for breakout sessions such as NA, Women, OA, GA, etc. and different medical specialties will be available starting at 6am through 11pm.

Of course, IDAA 2017 will be offering continuing education credits for medical and dental professionals.

The Snowbird Resort is located in the majestic Wasatch Range, only 31 miles from Salt Lake City airport, with spectacular views of the mountains and canyon. Downtown Salt Lake City, the "Crossroads of the West" is only 25 miles away, with the Discovery Gateway children's museum, the Clark Planetarium with IMAX, several classic movie theaters, and of course the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir. There are also opera and ballet companies. Outdoor activities abound, including hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. There are many small reservoirs and rivers in the Wasatch Mountains that are popular for boating, fishing, and other water-related activities

Newcomers are the most important people at any IDAA meeting, and we will be providing every opportunity for them to attend, including full and partial AA and Al-Anon scholarships donated by our members for individuals and families in need. If you know of anyone who may benefit from the IDAA fellowship, please encourage them to apply for a scholarship on or after March 1, 2017.

Register Online for the meeting and please make your hotel reservations as early as possible.

Come and join us for friendship, fellowship, spiritual growth, and fun at IDAA 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah!
