"We claim spiritual progress rather than spiritual perfection". This year's meeting will be focused on finding and maintaining freshness and vitality in our recovery through SPIRITUALITY. We plan to have a variety of types of AA meetings and topics to choose from with times and locations TBA. We will utilize the speaker/discussion "round table" format during the AA meetings. The AA Speaker for Saturday night's banquet is Penny Z from Fernandina Beach, FL.

The Al-Anon program will include meetings with a speaker/discussion format. Topics will include the twelve steps and recovery oriented information and issues. Opportunities will be available for AA/Al-Anon couples to participate in couples groups. A program that meets the needs of the newcomer and the experienced Al-Anon will be available. Our Al-Anon speaker for Friday's banquet is Al M. from Cary, NC.

Overcoming Barriers To Progress is the theme for our Continuing Medical Education this year. The CME will be a separate and distinct aspect of this conference. Some current topics in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, and Pain Management will be presented. There are few conferences like this one that additionally offer current scientific advances by experienced, qualified, and pragmatic providers.

A favorite part of the annual IDAA conventions is the fellowship at the luncheons and banquets.

Wednesday evening there will be a welcome reception with hors d' oeuvres in grand Ball Room in the meeting area of the Hotel.

Thursday evening is the Newcomers banquet. This is a wonderful experience for all the newcomers to be able to experience just how important they are.

Friday noon - The Al-Anon luncheon is an opportunity for all to hear current happenings with those in the Al-anon program. Al M. from Cary, NC will be the Al-Anon featured speaker. Also its an excellent chance to hear a peer selected speaker from Alateen.

Saturday evening will be the formal banquet, featuring our keynote speaker, Penny Z, from Fernandina Beach, FL. This is a very happy and spiritual time for all as many will be recognized for their service. Formal attire is most common for this affair. You'll be welcome regardless.

Last of all will be the Spiritual brunch on Sunday morning. Father Tom W of Oakland, CA will be our "spirituality speaker" and a wonderful way to close out our 2016 meeting.

Breakout meetings for different disciplines will be held at various times throughout the day, particularly during daylight hours. Rooms will be available and groups can sign up for use of the room. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside each room.
