The Grand Cypress Golf Club opened in January of 1984 and offers 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature golf. More grand and magical than you ever imagined, the resort has been the recipient of numerous awards inc luding: Top 100 Golf Resorts by the Readers of Conde Nast Traveler (2001-2006), Top 25 Resort Golf Shop by Golf World Business Magazine (2005, 2007), Merchandiser of the Year, Resort by the North Florida PGA (2009), Best Public Golf Course by Orlando Magazine (2006), Best Resort for Family Foursomes by Golf Odyssey (2007/2008), Florida's Best Golf Resort by the readers of Florida Monthly Magazine (2006), World's Best Golf Resorts by the readers of Travel + Leisure Golf (2007), Top 100 Courses You Can Play from GOLF Magazine(2010-2011), Top 50 Resort Courses from Golf World (2010,)and Top 25 Resort Golf Shop from Golf World (2008, 2009).

Need I say more, this is GOLF NIRVANA.

The Pro-Shop at both the Hilton Hotel and the Grand Cypress Golf Club has rental golf clubs. Your will need to call in advance to make arrangements and they can inform you of the club selection. It might be less of a transportation hassle to rent clubs at the course. Call either Pro shop to discuss the rental fees and reserve clubs.

There will be a shuttle running from the front door of the resort to the Grand Cypress that morning, but it only holds a limited number of people per trip. It takes about 10 minutes per round trip because the course is about two miles from the hotel lobby. We anticipate a 7:30 AM shotgun start so please BE EARLY. We really want the last shuttle to leave the resort at 7:00 AM with any stragglers.

Danishes, coffee, or juice will be available upon arrival for a quick meal. There will also be a cash beverage cart for water, soda, sandwiches, and candy bars. But you will need to purchase these items off the cart.

There is iced water in the coolers throughout the course and iced towels are routinely passed out along the course. This is Florida in July, so take precautions, it gets hot. Don't forget your Sunscreen and golf umbrella. Most summer rain showers are in the afternoon, but anything is possible in Orlando in the summer.

We will play a shotgun start, best ball scramble format, and prizes will be for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place groups. So make your reservation now, and don't miss this opportunity to play one of the most magical golf courses in the United States. Have fun!!

The 5K fun run and 1 mile fun walk will be laid out at a nearby beautiful lakefront park on August 6th. The cost is $20 and includes a commemorative gift. There will be prizes for the top finishers in several categories. Please register and join in the fun at this beautiful park.
