Current Weather and Forecast

The beauty and sophistication of Minneapolis is augmented by its changing seasons. From hot summer days to brisk winter evenings, here are some tips to fill your suitcase with the right gear.

In August, the average daytime high is 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) with the average daily humidity of 84%. With the heat and high humidity, bring comfortable, breathable clothes. Shorts and sandals are standard - especially near the lakes and the river. Area beaches offer swimming and sunbathing, so don't forget the swimsuit, beach towel, shades and sunscreen.

And bring your running shoes. Minneapolis was named the second best city for running by Runner's World, and one of the most walkable cities in the nation by PBS.
