For those of you coming from out of State, we'd like to offer some ideas of things to see and do while in the Sunny State of California. The Palm Springs area is saturated with things to do and see.
World class shopping and dining are just the beginning.
For the golf lovers, there are more than 100 courses to choose from, many of which are regularly shown during televised golfing events.
If you have interest in a bigger, more statewide tour the list of things to see in California is endless.
Some of the highlights might include cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco or maybe San Diego. Hollywood and Universal Studios is just over 100 miles away.
Theme parks include Disneyland, California Adventure, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, and Seaworld. All are within 100-150 miles from Palm Desert.
Southland beaches are a grand sight. Newport, Balboa, Long Beach and Malibu are familiar names. Carmel and Monterey Bay while further north, are well worth the drive.
As for beautiful scenery, Yosemite National Park, Sequoia National Park and the giant redwoods are top of the list. Just four hours north up the east side of the Sierras is the home of Mt. Whitney, tallest peak in the continental 48 states. Mono Lake and it's tufa towers are a memorable experience. Lake Tahoe's name speaks for itself.
All this awaits you as you plan your time around your trip to California for IDAA 2005.
See you there!
