Welcome to IDAA 2003
Join us in Mobile, Alabama August 13th - 17th, 2003
... And We Will Know Peace
International Doctors in Alcoholics Anonymous (IDAA) invites you and your entire family to its 54th annual meeting, August 13-17, 2003 in historic Mobile, Alabama. Mobile is celebrating its 300th birthday this year. This city is a combination of the old south featuring huge, spreading Live Oak trees and massive banks of azaleas sheltering antebellum homes, mixed with a modern city and one of the busiest seaports in the United States. This country's celebration of Mardi Gras originated here. Mobile is the home of college football's Senior Bowl, the LPGA's Tournament of Champions, and America's Junior Miss Pageant.
The meeting will be held at the Adams Mark Hotel, which overlooks Mobile Bay where the historic Civil War battle ("Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead") took place in 1864. Our meeting will provide family oriented recovery programs, including daily sessions for AA and Al-Anon, as well as separate programs for teens and children of all ages. Each day will begin with the traditional Early Bird Meetings and end with Break-Out sessions for specialty groups. Wednesday afternoon will offer a Continuing Education Program as well as concurrent recovery discussion groups. That evening we will follow a welcome meeting with an ice cream reception. Thursday there will be a full Continuing Education Program and simultaneous recovery programs and the day will conclude with the popular Newcomers Banquet. Friday and Saturday will concentrate on recovery with full days of AA, Al-Anon, Alateen etc. Saturday afternoon will feature the Al-Anon/Alateen Luncheon and that evening will be devoted to the AA Speaker Banquet. Sunday morning will be dedicated to our Spirituality Breakfast and speaker.
We welcome you to the Heart of Dixie, where southern hospitality reigns, life is casual ... And we will know peace.
